Politiske Prioriteter
Et bedre, mere inkluderende Cambridge til os alle
Lokaløkonomi
A resilient and equitable economy is key to the wellbeing of a community. Given the serious challenges small businesses face today, I will advocate for policies both to incentivize greener business practices and to increase access to opportunity for traditionally marginalized groups such as BIPOC, the LGBTQ+ community and women via improved access to credit and support for community banks.

Retfærdighed på boligmarkedet
As your City Councilor, you can count on me to readdress local eviction and rent control legislation on your behalf. As a renter myself, I know that Cambridge’s running housing crisis is of utmost priority. I believe that new housing development in Cambridge should be regulated with an eye for tenants’ interests, not corporate real estate developers’.
Retfærdighed for alle racer
As a City Councilor, I will push to reallocate police funding to non-police solutions such as housing, healthcare, and public education. Cambridge does have a progressive reputation, but there is still a long way to go to eradicate racism and other forms of prejudice.
Klimaaktion
As climate change worsens, urban areas historically void of tree canopy suffer the most. The world is changing and Cambridge must keep up. I will push to incentivize the implementation of greener infrastructure and community initiatives to reverse the rapid decline of our tree canopy, promote the use of mass transit with additional bike lanes, and move the city to net zero carbon emissions by adopting building electrification requirements and increasing building design requirements. I enthusiastically support the Green New Deal.
Lige uddannelsesvilkår
Much like the rest of the country, Cambridge has seen a rapid increase in economic inequality in recent years. As the sister of a Boston Public School teacher, I am privy to the daily challenges faced by schools and students alike. In view of this, I intend to level the playing field by ensuring universal preschool offerings at Cambridge Public Schools to benefit the children of working parents, advocating for municipal broadband, and creating easy-to-use informational resources to help parents make informed choices about their children’s education and navigate public schools’ school choice and lottery systems.
COVID-19
These are trying times. The same rules as before cannot apply in the context of unprecedented social and economic upheaval. Further, COVID-19 has further complicated all the issues listed here, including local business vitality and efforts toward racial and criminal justice. As such, my first priorities as your Councilor will be to pass a temporary moratorium on evictions as well as rent, mortgage, and utility payments, and to secure hazard pay for essential and frontline workers in both the public and private sectors.
Transport
Cambridge’s transportation systems should be more accessible, safe, and equitable. Transportation is essential for connecting our community and providing all people pathways to opportunities. We need proactive city leaders to ensure our streets are accessible to all and who recognize the important intersection of transportation with housing and climate. As a City Councilor, you can count on me to ensure our roads meet the needs of all community members.
Arts & Culture
The arts are a central part of Cambridge’s identity and are critical to building dynamic, fuller communities. The arts support our neighborhoods and are a vehicle for economic security and growth. As a Councillor, I will be a champion for Cambridge’s vibrant arts community.
